Satu Mare is located in the north-west of Romania, with a total area of 4418 kilometers square. Capital city of Satu Mare county with 132,000 inhabitants.
Satu Mare is one of the major portion of the Romanian border with Hungary and Ukraine. Satu Mare climate is temperate continental plains occupy 63% of the total area, the highest altitude being 126 m. The hydrographic network of Satu Mare includes rivers Somes, tour and Crasna.

Satu Mare County - History
Satu Mare County, crossed the river Somes old and lived from time immemorial the Geto-Dacians, was the cradle of Romanian culture and civilization. Oas Country archaeological excavations from Ardud, Mediesu-Plated Homorod and Sanislau have uncovered relics attesting human life in this region since the Paleolithic.
A landmark in the history of this region is represented by the Dacians, who lived here nearly 1000 years creating a remarkable civilization whose model is Mediesu-Plated location where found remains of 13 pottery kilns were removed from the light, representing greatest archaeological treasures of this kind in the country.
In the late ninth century and the beginning of the tenth century, the region was part of the Voivodeship of Menumorut the city was the seat in Satu Mare (Castrum Zotmar), conquered by the Hungarians after bitter struggle that lasted three days.
Being at the crossroads of important trade routes and rich with natural resources, attested in historical writings since 1181, Satu Mare County, had a tumultuous history.
